About Jeneane Sessum
I’m a technology and business writer, marketing and communications professional, and netizen living in Atlanta, Georgia, originally from Western NY. I still cheer for the Bills. I am obviously loyal, outspoken, and brunette. In the summer, I like the water. In the winter, I like the crock pot.
I’ve been online since 1995, and in 1996 I wrote and co-designed our data warehousing company website, among the first in our industry. Since then, there’s not much you can’t already find out here and here:
- LinkedIn Profile - hey, I’m a pro!
- allied - my original blog, 2001 - present
- Blog Sisters - Founded 2002, a 100+-member women’s weblog as mentioned in The New York Times, Time Magazine, the Sunday Times Online and other mainstream publications, some even without the word “Time” in them.

My Official Blurb Wherein I Refer to Myself in the Third-Person

From 1994-1998, Jeneane was Director of Corporate Communications for Systems Techniques, a healthcare data warehousing company later acquired by IBM, where she executed marketing and public relations programs that built the company’s brand and led to its acquisition.
Prior to moving to Atlanta from Rochester, NY, Jeneane spent five years with Eastman Kodak Company managing the Technical Publications Group at Kodak’s Edicon Systems Division.
Jeneane is a well-known “weblogger” on her personal blog, allied, and a business blogging pioneer who started blogging in 2001 and founded the first women’s team blog, Blog Sisters, that same year. She has been an Advisory Board Member and Contributing Editor to the high-profile women’s community, BlogHer. Jeneane and her work have been featured in such publications as Business Week, The New York Times, Time Magazine and The Times Online.
